- Can an individual register for training without being employed?
No, an individual must be sent directly from the company with whom they are currently employed.
- What kind of equipment do you offer training on?
Powered Industrial Forklifts: Sit-Down, Stand-Up, Pallet Jacks, Walkie Stackers, Rough Terrain Straight Mast Forklift (Forklift Classification 1 – 7)
Rough Terrain Forklift: Telehandlers (Forklift Classification 7)
Mobile Elevated Work Platforms: Scissor Lifts (3A), Boom Lifts (3B), Personnel Lifts (1A)
- Do you offer training for non-English speaking customers?
Our FORKLIFT and Rough Terrain Forklift training program is only offered in English at this time.
Our MEWP training program is offered in multiple languages. (Please call for details) - How can I register for a class?

Please go to the main entrance, south of the parking lot, and check in with the receptionist on the day of training. - How long is the class?
Depending on the class size, each class will take 4-5 hours to complete.
- What is the maximum number of attendees per class?
There is a 12 person per class maximum for FORKLIFT training at National Lift Truck.
FORKLIFT training on-site at your facility have unlimited number of attendees.MOBILE ELEVATED WORK PLATFORM (MEWP) training classes are limited to 6 attendees – both at National Lift Truck and on-site at your facility.
- What do I need to wear or bring to class?
You will be operating equipment, please use the following as a guideline for safe operation:
Wear comfortable clothing that is free of anything that may catch on the equipment
Wear closed-toe shoes
MEWP operation requirement: Please bring a safety harness and tether to class. - How long does it take to receive the certificate packet?
Please allow 2-4 days after taking the class to receive your FORKLIFT and Rough Terrain Forklift certificate packet. The MEWP Training – PAL Card – will take up approximately two (2) weeks be received.
- Will my certification card be valid at another company?
No, certificates and wallet cards are non-transferable. Training documents stay with the company who requested your training.
- What is the Forklift Operator Re-Certification course?
The Forklift Operator Re-Certification course is for experienced operators who are interested in renewing their certification. National Lift Truck requires operators to renew their wallet cards every three years. Supervisors may send their employees in for a Re-certification course sooner if any of the following occur:
Employers observe workers who are operating a lift improperly
An accident occurs during equipment use
Workplace hazards involving equipment are discovered, or
A different type of lift is being used
Upon successful completion of both the classroom and hand-on operation of equipment, students will receive a renewed certificate and wallet card. - How long is the Forklift “train the trainer” certification good for?
Trainer status never expires. However, operator status must be renewed once every three (3) years.
- How long is the MEWP certification good for?
The Mobile Elevated Work Platform certification is good for 5 years.
- I misplaced my Trainer’s Manual. Can I purchase replacement training materials?
